The governorship candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) in Bauchi State, Senator Shehu Buba Umar, has reaffirmed his commitment to promoting education, saying he will prioritise the sector if elected governor.
The senator made the pledge during the graduation ceremony of students who completed the memorisation of the Holy Qur’an at Noor-Al Haramain School, held on Saturday at the National Mosque Conference Hall in Abuja.
Represented by his Senior Legislative Aide, Hon. Abba Aliyu Tilde, Senator Umar congratulated the graduating students and praised the school’s management for its efforts in raising young Muslims rooted in the teachings and values of the Holy Qur’an.
He said the school’s commitment to Qur’anic education was helping to build a morally upright generation and deserved continued support from individuals and leaders.
Hon. Tilde, who also holds the traditional title of Zannan Tilde Fulani, reiterated the senator’s commitment to supporting educational and religious programmes that promote moral values and community development.
As part of the support, Senator Umar donated N2 million to Noor-Al Haramain School, while Hon. Tilde contributed an additional N500,000, bringing the total donation to N2.5 million.
The school’s management, graduating students and guests expressed appreciation for the donations and offered prayers for Allah to reward the benefactors and grant them continued success.
The ceremony attracted Islamic scholars, parents, community leaders, well-wishers and other dignitaries who gathered to celebrate the achievements of the new Huffaz.
The event ended with prayers for the graduates, presentation of certificates and a call on the newly certified Huffaz to remain committed to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and serve as worthy ambassadors of Islam in their communities.
