Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have repelled multiple terrorist attacks and secured key locations across Borno and Adamawa States between October 25 and 31, 2025.

The operations disrupted several Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) activities, including an attempted suicide bombing, ambushes, and illegal smuggling.

According to the military, troops stood firm, executed swift responses, and thwarted enemy advances while protecting civilians and maintaining operational control.

On October 25, troops foiled a major terrorist attempt to invade Kukawa Town using a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device.

The troops engaged the armored vehicle with rocket-propelled grenades before a T-55 tank destroyed it, preventing a large-scale explosion.

A 10-year-old girl sustained minor injuries and received treatment at a medical facility.

In a related development, troops working with the Civilian Joint Task Force discovered and safely neutralized three improvised explosive devices along the Dikwa–Ajiri axis.

The explosives were planted to disrupt military movement and supply routes.

On October 29, troops of 192 Battalion, in collaboration with the CJTF, ambushed and neutralized two terrorists in Gwoza Local Government Area.

Recovered items confirmed that insurgents still rely on bicycles and food supplies for movement within the Mandara Mountains.

Similarly, on October 30, troops of 202 Battalion, supported by 10 members of the Volunteer Force, launched a night ambush along the Bama–Konduga route, forcing terrorists attempting to cross from Gezuwa into Sambisa Forest to flee.

In Adamawa State, troops under Operation Strangulation intercepted a drum of fuel and two motorcycles used for illegal transport in Mubi South Local Government Area.

The smugglers abandoned the items and escaped upon sighting the troops.

Also, following intelligence reports, troops arrested five suspects in Sabon Gari village, Madagali Local Government Area.

Those arrested include Musa Mohammed (38), Gambo Musa (17), Mallam Mohammed (17), Abu Danjuma (27), and Umar Banna (26).

A desert camouflage uniform, one round of 7.62mm × 54mm ammunition, and 50 wraps of Indian hemp were recovered during the operation. The military said investigations are ongoing.

The Air Component Command of Operation Hadin Kai provided air support throughout the missions, conducting precision strikes and reconnaissance to assist ground troops.

Follow-up operations on October 31 led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, 98 rounds of ammunition, and four bicycles near Sambisa Forest. No military casualties were recorded.

Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer of Operation Hadin Kai, said the military high command commended the troops for their professionalism and gallantry.

He added that the armed forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism, dismantling supply chains, and restoring peace to the North East region.
