Residents of two Borno communities are facing renewed insecurity after Boko Haram terrorists launched separate attacks on Izge in Gwoza axis and Malari in Konduga Local Government Area.
The problem started on Saturday when terrorists attempted to invade Izge around 11:50 a.m.
Reports said the Nigerian Army, Civilian JTF, and local hunters confronted the attackers and forced them to withdraw.
Residents explained that weak mobile network has made it difficult to confirm casualty figures or assess the scale of the attack.
The impact of the incident has left the community tense as people wait for more information from security agencies.
Security officers have not released an official statement on the Izge attack as of press time.
A similar concern emerged in Malari where at least eight onion farmers were abducted around midnight.
Eyewitnesses said the victims were on their farmland watering crops when armed terrorists arrived on motorcycles and took them away, according to reports by local newspaper based in the state.
The kidnapping occurred days after troops rescued 12 women earlier abducted in Askira-Uba.
The continued attacks on farmlands are raising fears of worsening food insecurity in rural communities.
Authorities are yet to confirm details of the Malari abduction as of the time of filing this report.
More updates will follow as additional information becomes available.
