Security forces have thwarted a late-night bandit attack in Mahuta, a community in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State, and successfully rescued a Sharia court judge taken during the raid.
According to information obtained by Zagazola Makama from security sources, the attack occurred at about 11:55 p.m. on April 8, 2025, when heavily armed bandits invaded the village and abducted six residents. Among the victims was 49-year-old Rabiu Tukur, a judge serving at the Lower Sharia Court in Dandume.
Troops swiftly responded and engaged the attackers in a gun battle, leading to the safe rescue of Judge Tukur. He was recovered unharmed.
Security personnel are continuing operations in the area to track down the criminals and rescue the remaining five abductees.
