President Bola Ahmed Tinubu remains committed to religious neutrality and fostering national unity, the Presidency has said.
This comes as Tinubu arrived in the Vatican on Sunday, May 18, 2025, to attend the inaugural Mass of Pope Leo XIV.
Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, emphasized this in a statement posted on his verified X handle, @SundayDareSD, where he underlined Tinubu’s inclusive approach to governance.
“President Tinubu leads a multi-religious nation and remains unbiased against any. His creed: though tribe, tongue and religion may differ, in nationhood we stand — united,” Dare wrote.
Vatican trip underscores inclusive national vision
Dare noted that Tinubu’s visit to the Vatican, where he was joined by four top Nigerian clergymen, sends a strong signal of his commitment to serving all Nigerians, regardless of religious affiliation.
“President Tinubu is purposed to serve all citizens irrespective.
His visit to the Vatican alongside four top clergymen resonates clearly in this direction,” the presidential aide added.
