Eight passengers and three crew members aboard a private jet operated by Flybird were reportedly evacuated without injury after their aircraft crash-landed at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) on Sunday morning.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the aircraft, which was travelling from Abuja, attempted to land at the Kano airport. An eyewitness revealed that indications showed the plane had developed certain technical problems before the incident.
However, a source at the airport stated that the aircraft has since been cleared and that none of the passengers or crew members sustained injuries. It was also gathered that those involved were taken to the hospital.
Similarly, authorities at the airport declined to comment, insisting that only the aviation authorities in Lagos and the headquarters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) can officially respond.
