The Nigerian Air Force has graduated a fresh batch of intelligence personnel in a move aimed at strengthening intelligence-driven operations and improving national security efforts across the country.

The graduation ceremony for participants of Basic Intelligence Course 34/2026 took place on Friday, 8 May 2026, at the Nigerian Air Force School of Air Intelligence.

In a statement obtained from NAF’s X handle on Sunday, the Director of Air Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal Emmanuel Ukpong, who represented the Chief of Air Intelligence, Air Vice Marshal Nnamdi Ananaba, described the graduation as “another significant milestone in the sustained effort to produce highly professional intelligence personnel capable of supporting national security objectives.”

Ukpong stated that the evolving security landscape demands “well-trained and mission-oriented intelligence operatives equipped to effectively support ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations.”

According to him, the training programme offered specialised instruction in intelligence operations, operational analysis, security support, and mission-oriented capability development designed to strengthen the participants’ analytical, reporting, and decision-making skills.

He emphasised the role of actionable intelligence in military engagements, stressing that “producing credible and timely intelligence remains critical to operational effectiveness and strategic decision-making.”

The senior officer further advised the graduating officers to maintain professionalism and discipline while carrying out their responsibilities.

“You must continue to uphold integrity, teamwork, and continuous self-development in line with emerging technological advancements and contemporary security realities,” he said.

He added that the graduation demonstrates the commitment of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, to improving intelligence capacity development and promoting intelligence-led operations within the Air Force.

The Nigerian Air Force also noted that continuous investment in training institutions and personnel development remains essential to enhancing mission preparedness and operational efficiency in tackling emerging security threats while promoting peace and national stability.
