The Lagos State Government has demolished the automobile showroom owned by popular influencer and car dealer, Waris Olayinka Akinwande, better known as Ola of Lagos.

The facility, known as OOL Autos, was taken down on Saturday, October 11, 2025, according to several reports.

While the state government has not yet issued an official explanation for the action, it is believed to be part of its ongoing crackdown on illegal and unsafe structures across Lagos.

Reports and social media claims indicate that the showroom was allegedly built beneath a high-tension power line—an area off-limits for construction under safety and urban planning rules.

The demolition reflects the government’s continued commitment to enforcing physical planning regulations, restoring urban order, and safeguarding residents.

Similar demolitions have been conducted in areas such as the Trade Fair Complex and parts of Lekki, where buildings lacking approval or blocking drainages, road setbacks, and rights-of-way were also removed.

According to the Lagos authorities, such exercises aim to prevent flooding, protect lives and property, and promote a safer, more sustainable urban environment.
