The Director General of the Kaduna State Contributory Health Management Authority (KADCHMA), Mallam Abubakar Hassan, has urged managers of 255 public health facilities to ensure quality and affordable healthcare for enrollees under the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF).
The charge was given at the 2025 KADCHMA Public Providers End-of-Year Performance Review Meeting, held simultaneously in Zaria, Kaduna and Kafanchan.
Represented by the Head of Administration and Finance, Mallam Suleiman Mustapha, Hassan said the review was to assess providers’ performance, particularly the submission of monthly encounters and utilization reports.
“This meeting is to review performance, identify bottlenecks and jointly develop solutions to improve service delivery,” he said.
He noted that capitation payments are now performance-based, stressing that compliance and quality service delivery are critical.
Speaking on behalf of the Zonal Directors of the Primary Health Care Board, Mrs. Melody Edwards, represented by Mr. Joel Andrew, said enrolment figures alone no longer determine payments.
“The era of capitation based solely on enrollee numbers is over. Payments are now strictly tied to performance,” she said.
She urged facility managers to redouble their efforts in ensuring compliance with KADCHMA guidelines and delivering quality healthcare services to beneficiaries.
