Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, arrived in Maiduguri on Monday for his first operational visit since assuming office.
The visit is aimed at assessing ongoing air operations, improving coordination, and boosting troop morale across the North East theater.
He was received at the Maiduguri Air Force Base by the Theatre Commander, Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai, alongside senior air and military officers.
During the visit, the Air Chief will tour key operational facilities and receive briefings from sector commanders on current air activities.
He is also scheduled to meet aircrew and frontline personnel to review challenges and operational requirements.
Air Vice-Marshal Aneke will address troops during a durbar at AVM EE Edem Hall as part of the engagement.
The visit comes at a time when the Nigerian Air Force is working to strengthen air support and enhance readiness for counterinsurgency operations in the region.
Officials say the Air Chief will leverage his experience to improve air operations and reinforce ongoing security efforts.
