The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Kano State, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has urged Muslims across the state to intensify prayers for an end to insecurity.

Gwarzo made the call in a goodwill message issued by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, on Tuesday to mark Takutaha, the annual celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

He congratulated Muslims across Kano on the occasion and described Takutaha as an important time for Muslims to reflect on the life, teachings and character of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

According to him, the celebration should remind Muslims of the Prophet’s teachings on peace, compassion, justice, unity and peaceful coexistence.

Gwarzo, called on Muslims to use the occasion to strengthen their faith, promote brotherhood and encourage tolerance and understanding among the people.

He urged Muslims to pray especially for communities affected by insecurity, including areas bordering some local government areas of Kano State.

Gwarzo said lasting peace would require collective efforts and continued prayers, while calling on the people of Kano to uphold love, justice, mutual respect and peaceful coexistence.

He also prayed for peace, prosperity and divine blessings for Kano State and Nigeria, urging Muslims to continue praying for the stability and progress of the country.

The NDC candidate further assured Kano residents that, if elected governor in 2027, he would work to promote good governance, accountability, unity and sustainable development.

“On behalf of my family and political associates, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim Ummah in Kano State on the occasion of Takutaha.

“May this celebration strengthen our faith, deepen our love for the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), and inspire us to live by the virtues of peace, compassion, justice and service to humanity,” Gwarzo said.
