The North Central Agenda (NCA), a political advocacy group, has endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking at a one-day conference on the development of the North Central under the Renewed Hope Agenda in Abuja, the group’s convener, Ene Ogbole, said Tinubu’s victory in the region in 2027 is a “done deal.”
She also dismissed fresh criticism of the APC’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket, saying Nigerians had already settled the issue during the 2023 general election.
Ogbole said the North Central region had faced years of poor infrastructure and insecurity before Tinubu took office in May 2023.
According to her, the administration has delivered “renewed hope and visible progress” through investments in roads, agriculture, education and security. She mentioned projects including the Calabar–Ebonyi–Benue–Kogi–Nasarawa–Abuja Superhighway, the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway, the Akwanga–Jos–Bauchi–Gombe–Maiduguri Highway, the Suleja–Minna Dual Carriageway and the Lokoja–Okene Dualisation Project.
She also praised government support through TETFund and NELFUND, saying more people now have access to education and that long university strikes have ended. According to her, improved security has allowed farmers to return to their farms and businesses to reopen.
Ogbole said, “The fair and judicious spread of capital projects to all the geopolitical zones by the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has changed the narratives from negative to positive, from neglect to recognition… and now to socio-economic structural and infrastructural transformation of the entire north-central zone.”
The NCA convener said the group would campaign across the six North Central states and the Federal Capital Territory to support Tinubu’s re-election.
She said, “Consequently, we are pledging to mobilise massively like never before across the entire North Central states to support the re-election of the president that has brought us from doom to the dawn of a new era.” She added, “For us as the mouthpiece of the north-central people, this re-election is a done deal as we will stop at nothing within the confines of the law to ensure that his victory is secured.”
Also speaking at the event, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, who was represented by his Senior Assistant (Technical), Babatunde Benard, said Tinubu’s reforms are building a stronger future for Nigeria.
Benard said, “The president is a trailblazer. He is taking decisions that may not produce instant results, but they are the kind of reforms that will secure Nigeria’s future.”
He pointed to the student loan scheme and ongoing road projects as key achievements that would boost economic growth.
