Celebrating the 3rd Anniversary of My Appointment as Kachallan Kano
On 26th June 2023, I received one of the greatest honours of my life when His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, CFR, CNOL, JP, Emir of Kano, graciously bestowed upon me the revered traditional title of Kachallan Kano.
As I commemorate the third anniversary of this memorable occasion, my heart is filled with sincere gratitude to Almighty Allah for His endless mercy and direction. I remain profoundly humbled by the trust placed in me by His Royal Highness and the Kano Emirate, an institution that has, for generations, remained a beacon of leadership, justice, dignity, scholarship, and selfless service to humanity.
The Kano Emirate is far more than a traditional institution; it represents a living legacy that reflects the principles of integrity, wisdom, compassion, unity, and responsible leadership. Across the centuries, the Emirate has continued to bridge our cherished cultural heritage with the aspirations of contemporary society. It has safeguarded our history, strengthened our values, and encouraged peaceful coexistence among people from diverse backgrounds.
My appointment as Kachallan Kano remains one of the most treasured recognitions of my lifelong dedication to public service, community advancement, and the progress of our people. It is a responsibility that constantly reminds me that true leadership is measured not by privilege but by sacrifice, humility, and unwavering commitment to the collective good.
As I reflect on the journey of the past three years, I pay special tribute to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero. His ascension to the throne represented not only the continuation of a distinguished royal heritage but also the emergence of a leader whose wisdom, character, and composure have earned him widespread admiration across Kano State, Northern Nigeria, and indeed the entire country.
His Royal Highness embodies the highest qualities expected of a traditional ruler. He remains firmly rooted in the traditions and values of the Emirate while embracing the realities of an evolving world. His calm temperament, commitment to peace, respect for every individual regardless of status or background, and steadfast devotion to the welfare of his people have distinguished him as a royal father of remarkable stature.
Across Nigeria, he continues to command immense respect for his statesmanship, maturity, and ability to promote unity during difficult moments. Within Kano, countless residents hold him in high regard because of his accessibility, humility, and sincere concern for the wellbeing of the people. His leadership continues to reinforce the enduring relevance of traditional institutions in fostering social harmony, moral guidance, and sustainable community development.
On this memorable anniversary, I express my deepest appreciation to His Royal Highness for this exceptional honour and for his continued guidance. I also extend my gratitude to my family, friends, associates, colleagues, and the good people of Kano whose encouragement, support, and goodwill have enriched this remarkable journey.
As we celebrate this important milestone, I reaffirm my commitment to the ideals and enduring values of the Kano Emirate. I will continue to serve with dedication, uphold the dignity of the title entrusted to me, and contribute my quota towards the unity, progress, and prosperity of our people.
May Almighty Allah continue to bless the Kano Emirate, preserve our cherished traditions, grant long life, sound health, and wisdom to His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, and guide us all in the service of humanity.
