The Zamfara State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed deep satisfaction with the warm reception accorded to its leadership by the Information Chapel during a recent courtesy visit yesterday, 6th of August at Zamfara State Ministry of Information and Culture.

The visit, aimed at strengthening unity and fostering solidarity within the union, was marked by mutual expressions of support and commitment to professional journalism. Members of the Information Chapel welcomed the delegation with enthusiasm, highlighting their optimism about the union’s future under its current leadership.

Speaking during the visit, the State Chairman of the NUJ, Comrade Ibrahim Musa Mai-Zare, commended the hospitality shown by the Information Chapel and its chairman, Comrade Sulaiman Isah. He expressed appreciation for the chapel’s continued support, especially its endorsement of his leadership for another three-year term.

Comrade Mai-Zare also urged all members to ensure they are duly registered with the union. He stressed the importance of up-to-date membership, noting that expired registration cards should be renewed promptly. Failure to do so, he warned, would amount to self-withdrawal from the union.

Reiterating the NUJ’s commitment to capacity-building, the chairman announced plans to provide in-house training for members to enhance professional standards and promote adherence to journalistic ethics.

In his response, Comrade Sulaiman Isah, Chairman of the Information Chapel, welcomed the NUJ delegation and praised their leadership’s engagement and outreach efforts. He reaffirmed the chapel’s support for the state leadership and expressed confidence in their direction.

He called on union members to uphold integrity and accountability, emphasizing that journalists must serve the public with responsibility and ethical commitment.

The NUJ delegation included key state executive members such as Comrade Ibrahim Gada (Secretary), the State Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Vice Secretary, and the Auditor, among others.
