Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustainable growth and inclusive development, highlighting Kaduna’s progress as a model of Nigeria’s national resurgence.
Speaking at a Special Side Event during the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, themed “Global Partnerships, Local Prosperity: Unlocking Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Blueprint for Sustainable Growth”, the governor underscored the transformative reforms being championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“These reforms are not merely policy shifts; they represent a fundamental realignment of governance, aimed at restoring public trust, reinvigorating investor confidence, and positioning Nigeria on a sustainable growth trajectory,” Governor Sani said.
He cited key measures including the removal of the fuel subsidy, unification of exchange rates, institutional reforms, and strengthened diplomatic engagement, noting that they are already yielding measurable progress.
Kaduna as microcosm of Nigeria’s transformation
Turning to Kaduna State, the governor described it as a microcosm of Nigeria’s renewal, pointing out the state’s improved security outlook, recently recognized by the UK Government’s upgrade of Kaduna’s travel advisory from “Red” to “Amber.”
“Through a balanced approach of kinetic operations and community-centered non-kinetic strategies, Kaduna has made significant strides in restoring peace and stability,” he explained.
Governor Sani also highlighted Kaduna’s ongoing transformation agenda, which includes the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ), investments in human capital development, digital modernization, and a transparent and inclusive governance culture.
He emphasized the critical role of international collaboration in sustaining these efforts.
“While our determination within Nigeria is crucial, global partnerships are indispensable in unlocking our collective potential. Kaduna State is prepared to work with multilateral institutions, development partners, private investors, and our diaspora to co-create scalable solutions that foster shared prosperity,” he declared.
Concluding his remarks, Governor Sani lauded President Tinubu’s “unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s renaissance” and pledged Kaduna State’s resolve to sustain momentum toward building a future anchored on peace, dignity, and opportunity for all.
