The Shanono Local Government Council has confirmed a deadly attack on Faruruwa Community in Kano that led to the killing of two individuals and the abduction of two others.
This was confirmed in a statement issued to the press this morning, the spokesperson to the Executive Chairman, Comrade Ammar Wakili Shanono on Friday.
He said the council under the leadership of Hon. Abubakar Barau strongly condemns the incident and is committed to supporting a thorough investigation.
According to reports, the attack occurred around 8:00 PM on Thursday when suspected kidnappers invaded the community market.
In addition to those killed and kidnapped, two other individuals sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment in hospital.
Hon. Barau expressed deep concern over the worsening security situation, particularly in communities bordering Katsina State.
“Our administration is working tirelessly to restore peace and security in the area to safeguard lives and property,” he stated.
He further noted that security operatives are already investigating the incident, and the local government will provide all necessary support to ensure the culprits are apprehended.
The Chairman also called on residents of Faruruwa Community to cooperate fully with security agencies to aid the ongoing investigation.
In closing, Hon. Abubakar Barau extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for strength and comfort for them during this difficult time.
