The marriage between Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, has drawn intense public attention following a string of viral videos and social media posts in which both parties accused each other of misconduct.
In a video that circulated over the weekend, Daniels appeared visibly emotional as she hinted at deep troubles in her marriage. She claimed she could no longer stay in the union, alleging repeated instances of domestic abuse.
“In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my house, I am a queen. Not again, I cannot stand the violence, it is too much,” she said.
Her remarks triggered widespread speculation about the couple’s relationship, which has been a recurring topic of online discussion since their traditional wedding in 2019.
Senator Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, responded with a statement denying the allegations and accusing the actress of battling substance abuse.
“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem.
“She must continue her rehabilitation programme, or I fear for her life and safety.
“Now she has moved to a place where she will have unrestricted access to drugs.
“I have other wives, and none will ever accuse me of violence.
“Regina is the violent one here, slapping and hitting three staff in the past 48 hours and destroying property, including cars and windows, for no just cause.
“The truth is, I have set a clear condition for her to accept rehab in Asokoro or outside Nigeria, especially Jordan, where she will not have access to drugs.
“A clear-headed Regina would have taken Moon to the hospital, but instead she even threatened to kill our resident nurse (for exposing her drug abuse).
“While I took Moon to the hospital, a scene of chaos unfolded at home, orchestrated by Regina’s main drug supplier.
“Another known supplier of drugs to Regina is the tiny evil devil called Ann,” he wrote in a statement posted on his verified social media page.
The development has sparked widespread debate on social media, as relatives and associates of the couple continue to share conflicting accounts of the situation.
The pair, who have two children together, have frequently made headlines due to the significant age gap in their marriage—Regina was 20 years old when she married Nwoko, who was 59.
The Nation reported that neither side has released further information regarding the ongoing dispute. Attempts to reach Daniels’ mother for comment were unsuccessful; she hung up and did not return subsequent calls.
Senator Nwoko has since faced strong backlash online for revealing his wife’s alleged personal struggles to the public.
