President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has submitted the 2025 budget for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to the National Assembly, totaling N1,783,823,708,309. The budget presentation, read on the floor by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, aligns with Section 299 of the Constitution, vesting legislative functions for the FCT on the National Assembly
In a letter from the President read on the floor by the Speaker, the President said the budget will prioritise investment in health, job creation, social welfare, increase agricultural production and capital development.
According to him, 85 percent of the capital component of the budget will be dedicated to completing ongoing projects, while the remaining 15 percent will go for new projects.
The President urged lawmakers to expedite action in passing the budget, emphasizing its importance for the territory’s development.
