The Nigerian army says it has achieved multiple breakthroughs in their ongoing fight against insecurity.
In Katsina and Sokoto states, soldiers under Operation Hadarin Daji stormed terrorist enclaves in Faskari, Sabuwa, Danmusa, Isa, Sabon Birni, and Tangaza.
It says The operations—both kinetic and non-kinetic—resulted in the rescue of more than 100 kidnapped victims. Several terrorists were neutralized, and troops seized weapons, grenades, motorcycles, and communication gadgets from the criminals.
In the northeast, troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with other security agencies, rescued 16 additional hostages from terrorist custody in Borno and Yobe states.
During coordinated raids, 23 logistics suppliers and collaborators linked to Boko Haram and ISWAP were arrested.
The items recovered included bomb-making materials, fuel, food supplies, mobile phones, vehicles, and over ₦550,000 in cash.
Several terrorists also surrendered in Bama, Damboa, and Gwoza with their families, signaling mounting pressure from the military.
Oil refineries, gunrunners, and armed gangs dismantled
Security forces extended their offensive to Plateau, Kaduna, Taraba, Kogi, and Benue, where 34 armed robbers and violent extremists were apprehended.
Another 34 kidnapped victims were freed, while troops recovered firearms, motorcycles, and stolen livestock.
It added that in a focused operation within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), troops intercepted gunrunners in Abaji and handed them over to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA).
Meanwhile, multiple illegal oil refineries worth billions of naira were dismantled in ongoing efforts to choke criminal revenue streams.
