The Nigerian Army has cautioned members of the public against a fraudulent recruitment publication circulating on social media, claiming that applications for the 92 Regular Recruitment Intake have commenced.
The Army, in a statement signed by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Directorate of Recruitment, Captain AU Hammanga, and posted on X on Wednesday, described the publication as false and urged the public to disregard it.
“The publication is false and should be disregarded in its entirety,” the Army stated.
The Army explained that it follows an established process for announcing recruitment exercises and advised prospective applicants to depend on its official communication channels for credible information.
“The Nigerian Army maintains a clear and official procedure for announcing recruitment exercises and related activities and will duly inform the public through its official channels once the portal for 92 Regular Recruitment Intake is formally opened,” the statement said.
The warning followed concerns that fraudsters might exploit the fake recruitment notice to defraud job seekers and obtain money from unsuspecting applicants.
The Army reiterated its resolve to ensure that its recruitment exercises are conducted transparently and professionally.
“The Nigerian Army remains committed to transparency and professionalism in all recruitment processes,” it stated.
It further warned members of the public to remain vigilant and avoid becoming victims of fraudulent recruitment activities.
The Army advised prospective applicants to authenticate all recruitment information through its official channels before filing applications or making any payments.
The Nigerian Army called on the public to disregard the circulating publication pending an official announcement on the commencement of the 92 Regular Recruitment Intake.
