Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has taken a significant step towards enhancing food security in Niger State by inaugurating a committee for the implementation of food systems transformation pathways.

The committee’s mandate is to drive meaningful change in the state’s food systems.

He inaugurated the committee during the State Executive Council meeting at the Government House, Minna.

The committee is to be chaired by the Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mustapha Ndajiwo; with Permanent Secretary Planning, Aishatu Usman as the Secretary.

Other members are the Commissioners for Agriculture, Livestock, Nomadic, Finance, Basic and Secondary Education, Water Resources, Primary Healthcare, Women Affairs; Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Governor Bago assured the committee members of his unwavering support, saying, “He enjoined the committee members to work diligently towards achieving success.” 

According to the Nigerian Tribune’s report, the committee is well-positioned to drive positive change in Niger State’s food systems, with key stakeholders from various sectors working together to achieve success.
