The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has announced the interception of a consignment of cocaine hidden inside phone chargers and intended for trafficking to Saudi Arabia.
The agency’s spokesman, Femi Babafemi, revealed this in a post on X on Sunday, cautioning that traffickers are increasingly using common household items to avoid detection by security agencies.
Babafemi explained that while the items looked like regular phone chargers, NDLEA operatives were not misled, as the shipment was discovered to contain cocaine concealed within the devices.
“On the surface value, these are phone chargers but @ndlea_nigeria officers won’t fall for that. Concealed in there are consignments of cocaine going to Saudi Arabia,” he said.

He stated that the seizure reinforced the agency’s repeated advice to the public not to agree to transport parcels or luggage for other people without carefully verifying their contents.
“This is why we keep warning people not to help anyone deliver any parcel or luggage on their face value because of the desperation by traffickers,” Babafemi said.
