The Kwara State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has paid a condolence visit to Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, following recent terrorist attacks on some communities within the Borgu Emirate in Niger State.
Governor Abdulrazaq described the attacks as unfortunate and distressing, noting that the activities of the assailants have led to the loss of lives, destruction of means of livelihood, and displacement of several residents.
He conveyed the sympathy of the Kwara State Government and the Nigeria Governors Forum to the government and people of Niger State, assuring that continuous efforts would be pursued in partnership with relevant authorities to confront security challenges across the country.
Governor Bago expressed appreciation to his Kwara State counterpart for the visit, describing it as reassuring and a symbol of unity, especially as both states share boundaries around the Borgu Emirate and are similarly affected by security concerns.
According to the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger State, Bologi Ibrahim, the visit also opened discussions on strengthening inter-state cooperation to address the prevailing insecurity.
