A key public servant in Katsina State, Engr. Dr. Hassan Tingilim has died in a fatal car accident along Malumfashi-Katsina Road on Thursday, February 26, 2026.

The Managing Director of Katsina State Water Resources and Rural Water Supply Board, Tingilim, was involved in the crash while returning from a condolence visit at Malumfashi, his hometown.

The incident took place in the evening around 6:30 pm.

The deceased was rushed to Musawa Local Government General Hospital from where he was referred to Federal Medical Center, Katsina, and admitted at the intensive care unit (ICU) where he succumbed to his injuries.

Until his death, Tangilim was a dedicative public servant who had achieved enormously throughout his career especially during his tenure as MD, Katsina State Water Board.

He would be remembered for his humbleness, generosity and philanthropic efforts.

Before rising to the rank of MD, Tangilim served as a classroom teacher at Government Unity Secondary School Malumfashi where he taught Physics.

He also handled key positions at different capacity in the state service. Tangilim bagged a PhD degree from Chinese University.

His death remains great loss not only to his family, but to Katsina State and Nigeria generally.
