Kano State Government has directed the immediate disbursement of March 2026 salaries to all civil servants across the state ahead of the forthcoming Eid-el-Fitr (Sallah) celebrations.

The decision was made public on Saturday, March 14, 2026, by Bilkisu Shehu Maimota, Acting Head of Service, in a statement released by the Director of Public Enlightenment in the Office of the Head of Service, Rukayya Sulaiman.

According to the statement, the instruction from Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf was given to ensure civil servants can adequately and comfortably make preparations for the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations with dignity.

The early salary payment has been presented by the state government as a sign of appreciation for the commitment and contributions of civil servants toward the growth and progress of Kano State. Workers were also encouraged to make prudent use of the advance payment while maintaining discipline and efficiency in their responsibilities to support better service delivery.

Government officials further reiterated their dedication to initiatives that improve workers’ welfare and boost productivity within the public service.

The early payment comes only days before the Muslim festival of Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the conclusion of Ramadan, and is meant to assist workers in meeting the financial needs associated with the holiday celebrations.
