The Chief Judge of Kaduna State, Justice MTM Aliyu, has unveiled the Kaduna State High Court Civil Procedure Rules 2025, aimed at strengthening justice delivery and improving efficiency in civil proceedings.
Justice Aliyu described court rules as “the foundation of justice delivery,” noting that the review was necessary to address delays, procedural bottlenecks and emerging realities in legal practice.
He said the revised rules are designed to ensure “speedy and efficient disposal of cases,” reduce undue technicalities and promote the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
According to him, the rules also incorporate innovations such as electronic filing and virtual hearings to enhance access to justice and operational efficiency.
Justice Aliyu expressed confidence that the new rules would “boost public confidence in the justice system” and guarantee timely and fair justice. The rules will take effect on January 19, 2026.
