Suspected bandits have reportedly kidnapped 10 residents of Yashikra in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State during an attack carried out on Sunday night.
According to reports, armed men abducted the victims during a late-night invasion of the palace of the Emir of Yashikira, Alhaji Umaru Usman Sarki Sabi-Kpasi II.
Sources further disclosed that the attackers attempted to invade nearby police stations but were resisted by security operatives comprising military personnel and police officers.
It would be recalled that armed assailants on Saturday night killed three persons and abducted 15 worshippers around Ikiran Village in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The worshippers in Ekiti were reportedly abducted at about 10:30 p.m. during a night vigil held at a prayer centre located at Ijo Ajaye Ati Igbala, Ekerin Village, Ekiti LGA of Kwara State.
Meanwhile, dependable sources within the state government who confirmed the latest incident said security agencies have commenced immediate rescue efforts to secure the release of victims abducted in Yashikira on Sunday night.

“Military and police operatives have established a cordon in the area as part of the efforts to rescue about 10 persons who were reportedly taken from the community in an overnight attack on the palace of the Emir of Yashikira.
“The attackers also sought to raid the local police stations but were reportedly repelled.
“The police are expected to issue an official statement on the incident soon”.
