Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has dissolved the State Executive Council with immediate effect, directing affected Commissioners and Special Advisers to hand over to Permanent Secretaries or the most senior civil servants in their ministries.
Governor Oyebanji thanked the affected members of the State Executive Council and wished them success in their future endeavours.
However, the dissolution did not affect the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.
Others exempted are the Commissioner for Health and Human Services; Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security; Commissioner for Education; Commissioner for Works; Commissioner for Trade, Investment, Industry and Cooperatives; Special Adviser, Special Education and Social Inclusion; and Special Adviser Lands, Survey and e-GIS.
Prof. Habitat Adubiaro, the Secretary to the State Government, announced in a statement on Sunday that all Directors General who are part of the State Executive Council will remain in their roles despite the cabinet dissolution.
The secretary listed those retaining their positions as the Director General of the Office of Transformation and Service Delivery (OTSD), the Director General in charge of SDGs and Project Monitoring, and the Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP).
