The Kano State Police Command says it is investigating two separate incidents that happened in Kwalwa Quarters, Kano Municipal Local Government Area.
Police said the first case happened on August 4, 2025, at about 7:30 pm, when unidentified attackers invaded the home of Sadiq Shu’aibu, popularly known as Sadiq Gentle.
He was stabbed several times and robbed of his belongings.
Sadiq was taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital for treatment but died on August 7, 2025.
The police said it has launched a thorough investigation to track down and prosecute the culprits, urging anyone with useful information to come forward.
Suspected robbers beaten by mob
The second incident happened earlier, on August 3, 2025, around 2:00 am. Police said 24-year-old Mas’ud Dahiru allegedly broke into the home of Musa Hassan in the same area to rob him.
According to the police, Mas’ud allegedly tried to stab Musa’s wife but was stopped by their 18-year-old son, Muhammad Musa, whom he stabbed on the back and face.
Residents raised an alarm, and Mas’ud, along with his alleged accomplice, 38-year-old Alhaji Haruna, was caught and beaten by a mob.
They were taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, where Mas’ud was confirmed dead. His accomplice and the injured victim are receiving treatment.
Police launches investigation
The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, said the investigations would be transparent.
He said: “The Police Command is conducting an impartial investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
