Armed bandits stormed Bauda village in Kaduna’s Kajuru Local Government Area around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, abducting the Village Head, Mr. Obadiah Iguda.

The attackers reportedly targeted only the traditional leader, leaving without harming or abducting any other resident or looting properties.

According to a report submitted to the Agom Kufana by the Overseer of Kufana District, Mr. Stephen Maikori, the attackers targeted only the village head and left without harming or abducting any other resident or looting properties.

“This senseless act of violence has further deepened the atmosphere of insecurity and fear among the residents of Bauda and its surrounding communities,” Maikori said in the letter addressed to His Royal Highness.

The incident has disrupted the traditional leadership structure in Bauda and raised serious concerns over the worsening security situation in the area.

The Kufana District authority has called for urgent and sustained security intervention to safeguard lives and property and prevent further attacks.

Daily Trust reported that the Kaduna State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, promised to verify the incident details before commenting but hadn’t responded by the time this report was filed.
