Troops under Operation Hadin Kai stopped the movement of ISWAP fighters in an ambush along the Banki axis of Borno State, killing one terrorist and recovering weapons.

The operation, according to Zagazola Makama, took place between November 13 and the early hours of November 14.

Sources said the ambush team encountered terrorists riding motorcycles and carrying various weapons as they moved from Bula-Daloye toward the Mandara Mountains.

Troops overpower terrorists

The sources said the soldiers opened fire with superior weapons, forcing the attackers to scatter and flee.

“During the search of the area, troops recovered one terrorist’s body, one AK-47 rifle, two AK-47 magazines and two motorcycles,” a source said.
Some of the fleeing fighters were believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds.

No troop casualties

The sources confirmed that no soldier was killed or injured and no equipment was lost during the operation.

The ambush is part of continued efforts by the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai to block terrorist movement.
It also aims to weaken their capacity to operate across the region.
