The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kebbi State has called on the state government to explain the reported provision of ten Hilux vehicles in December 2025 for the Sokoto–Badagry highway project, demanding transparency in the procurement and management of public funds.

The party’s Director of Communication and Strategy, Bello Abdullahi, made the call in a statement, stressing that the public deserves a clear account of how government resources are utilised.

The ADC requested details of the cost of the vehicles, the procurement process, the supplying company, the budgetary allocation and the government agency that received them.

It also sought clarification on the intended use of the vehicles and the provisions made for fuelling, maintenance, insurance and other operational expenses.

The party emphasised that its demand was not intended to undermine development, acknowledging the economic importance of the Sokoto–Badagry highway project.

Rather, it said the call was aimed at promoting accountability, transparency and proper documentation in the management of public resources.

The ADC therefore urged the state government to release relevant procurement and expenditure documents for public scrutiny, maintaining that citizens have the right to know how public funds are spent.
