Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has reiterated that the commitment to secure more than one million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election remains firm and cannot be altered.

According to media reports, the ruling All Progressives Congress conducted its presidential primary elections nationwide on Saturday ahead of the 2027 presidential poll.

Speaking with journalists after casting his vote at his ward on Saturday in Kafin Hausa Local Government Area during the completed APC presidential primary election, the governor stated that, “Our promise to deliver over one million votes to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 is irreversible and uncompromising.”

Namadi explained that the large turnout recorded during the primary election reflected the confidence Jigawa residents have in the President.

“As you can see, the people have lined up in masses for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while nobody is on the side of his opponents,” the governor stated.

“This is a testimony to how popular the President is in the minds of the people of Jigawa,” he added.

The governor further said the peaceful conduct of the exercise demonstrated Tinubu’s dedication to democratic principles.

“If you look at how the exercise is going on, you can believe me that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu embodies democracy,” he said.

However, the governor stressed that Tinubu sees internal democracy as essential for national unity, stability, and development.

He also noted that the result of the primary election would serve as a clear indication to opposition parties.

“The outcome will be enough to signal that the APC is on the path to clear victory at all levels in 2027,” Namadi said.

In addition, Namadi praised APC members and Jigawa residents for displaying discipline and transparency during the exercise.

He also encouraged party loyalists across the state to return to their communities and begin preparations for the 2027 general election.
