The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has paid a condolence visit to Mrs Sarah Achi and her daughter at the 44 Nigerian army reference hospital, Kaduna, following their recent release from captivity and the tragic killing of her husband, the late Venerable Edwin Achi.

Describing the visit as a moment of deep solemnity, the Governor said he personally conveyed the sympathy of the Kaduna State Government to the family as they navigate grief and the long journey of healing.

“It was a deeply emotional encounter. I expressed my heartfelt condolences to Mrs Achi and her family as they confront an immense loss,” Governor Sani said.

The Governor was accompanied on the visit by the Anglican Archbishop of Kaduna Province, Most Revd. Timothy Yahaya.

Governor Sani assured Mrs Achi of the state government’s unwavering support, announcing a comprehensive intervention package for the family.

According to him, the government will provide a home for the family, fully sponsor the education of the children, settle all medical expenses, and offer sustained psychosocial care to support their recovery and reintegration.

“These interventions reflect our firm commitment to standing with victims of banditry and ensuring that compassion, justice and human dignity remain at the centre of governance,” the Governor stated.

He also commended security agencies for their professionalism, courage, and effective collaboration with the Kaduna State Government, which led to the successful rescue of the victims.

“Their sacrifice and dedication continue to strengthen public confidence in our security architecture,” he added.

Before departing the hospital, Governor Sani visited other patients receiving treatment, offering words of encouragement and reaffirming his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery and security across the state.

It could be recalled that, Venerable Edwin Achi, an Anglican priest in Kaduna State, was killed by his abductors in late 2025, after being kidnapped with his wife and daughter on October 28, 2025.
