Bayero University, Kano (BUK), has dismissed sixty (60) students from various academic departments after they were found culpable in examination malpractice.
The decision was reached by the university’s Senate at its 43rd statutory meeting held on January 7, 2026, after deliberating on reports and recommendations submitted by appropriate academic and disciplinary committees.
The development was made public in an official announcement shared on the university’s Facebook media platform on Friday.
According to the statement, investigations established that the affected students engaged in several acts that violated the institution’s examination rules.
“After reviewing the cases, the Senate approved the expulsion of the students in accordance with the university’s examination regulations,” the statement noted.
The university stated that the decision was implemented in line with the provisions of its General Examinations and Academic Regulations (GEAR) and, where applicable, the General Regulations Governing Postgraduate Studies (GRGPS).
