The All Progressives Congress (APC) has distanced itself from a purported official list of successful candidates from its recently conducted primaries circulating in the public, describing it as fake and unauthorised.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka, disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja that the party had yet to publish any official list of winners from its primaries.

The APC insisted that the list currently making the rounds did not emanate from the party and should not be regarded as authentic.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, said the party had not released any official list of winners of its primaries.

“The APC hereby informs the general public that it has not released the official list of successful candidates from its recently-conducted primaries,” he said.

Morka urged party members, stakeholders and the general public to ignore every publication or report claiming to contain the outcome of the primaries.

According to him, successful candidates will be duly notified through the party’s official channels and certificates of return will thereafter be issued in accordance with established procedures.

The APC spokesman advised the public to depend solely on official communications released by the party.

According to media reports, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has opened its portal for political parties to upload the names of candidates that emerged from their primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Although the APC maintained that the authentic list of successful candidates had not been officially released, NAN gathered from party sources that internal collation and verification exercises were still ongoing before the list would be made public.

According to the source, it has become expedient for the party to disassociate itself from the circulating fake list in order to guard against misinformation and prevent confusion among aspirants, members and the electorate.
