President Bola Tinubu has appointed executive directors to the board of the North Central Development Commission.
The disclosure came on Tuesday through a statement issued by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
According to media reports, the “appointees are Biliquis Sanni (Administration and Human Resources), Aisha Ibrahim (Commercial and Industrial Development), James Uloko (Corporate Services), Muhammad Bashar (Finance), and Atika Ajanah (Projects).”
“The directors will assist the commission in actualising its statutory mandate,” the statement added.
Tinubu urged “the executive directors to work closely with the NCDC’s governing board in “promoting and coordinating the sustainable development” of the North-Central geopolitical zone.”
According to The PUNCH, the NCDC was established in February 2025 after the President signed the North Central Development Commission Bill into law.
The commission was established to spearhead infrastructure projects, tackle ecological problems, and stimulate economic development in the North-Central region, an area that has long struggled with insecurity, flooding, and other pressing developmental challenges.
Its mandate extends across Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, and Plateau States, as well as the Federal Capital Territory, ensuring coordinated efforts to address regional needs and foster sustainable growth.
