Activist lawyer Deji Adeyanju has petitioned the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the immediate past Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (retd.), over funds he allegedly received during his six-month tenure.

In a petition addressed to the ICPC Chairman, Adeyanju alleged that Ibas collected ₦283.3 billion within six months but left little trace of development in the state.

“Earlier today, we petitioned ICPC @icpcnigeria to investigate former Rivers State Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (retd.), over the ₦283.3 billion he received in six months with virtually nothing to show for it,” Adeyanju wrote.

According to him, “Aside from the cosmetic renovation of the State House of Assembly complex, no project was executed, no accounts were published, and no transparency was offered.

“This is a clear case that demands urgent investigation and accountability as the people of Rivers State deserve to know how their money was spent.”

Ibas assumed office after Governor Sim Fubara was suspended for six months.
