President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is reportedly holding a closed-door meeting with the newly appointed Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Although the agenda of the meeting has not been officially disclosed, sources indicate that discussions are focused on strengthening Nigeria’s security structure and improving inter-agency coordination among the armed forces.
The meeting follows the President’s recent approval of a new lineup of Service Chiefs, which the Presidency described as part of ongoing efforts to promote professionalism, efficiency, and accountability in the nation’s security institutions.
In attendance are the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede; the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Kennedy Aneke; and the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas.
The strategic session is expected to define the priorities of the new military leadership, with a focus on counter-terrorism, internal security, and enhanced synergy across the armed services.
