The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested several notorious robbery suspects and recovered firearms, ammunition, and stolen items in a series of operations across the state.
Police spokesman DSP Mansir Hassan said operatives of Operation Fushin Kada apprehended gang leader Fahad Babangida alongside two accomplices on September 11, while plotting to rob a retired NNPC staff.
Their confession led to the arrest of two more members, Isah Musa and Usman Abdullahi, linked to shop burglaries and vehicle snatching within Rigasa. Receivers of stolen goods, including Kabiru Sabitu (alias Baban Godiya), were also arrested.
Police arrests suspected phone snatchers
In a related development, operatives arrested Abubakar Usman Bello on September 10 for alleged involvement in a phone-snatching syndicate. Recovered exhibits included one laptop and 45 handsets, with the case already charged to court.
On September 15, a patrol team arrested Ibrahim Hassan (19) and Usman Abubakar (21) near Unguwar Mu’azu Bypass Expressway with a 9mm pistol and live rounds ammunitions.
Similarly, on September 18, police apprehended Simon Haruna in Igabi LGA while negotiating the sale of a Beretta pistol, which he confessed was part of his gunrunning operations between Plateau and Kaduna states.
Police reassure public
Rabiu Muhammad, commended the operatives for their swift action and assured residents of the command’s resolve to rid the state of crime.
He urged the public to remain vigilant and provide useful information to support security efforts.
