The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has released a revised fare for prospective pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj season.
According to reports, the commission had earlier fixed a tentative fare of N8.5m for the 2026 Hajj exercise last month, awaiting official confirmation.
However, according to a statement issued by the commission on Saturday, intending pilgrims departing from the Maiduguri-Yola Zone (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa, and Taraba States) will pay N8,118,333.67, while those from other northern states will be charged N8,244,813.67.
For pilgrims from the southern states, the fare has been set at N8,561,013.67, with the commission explaining that the adjustment followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders, including the Forum of States leadership, and was subsequently approved by the Federal Government.
The Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Professor Abdullahi Sale Usman, said that compared to last year’s charges, “this year, each pilgrim is to pay average of two hundred thousand naira less.”
“Meanwhile, the NAHCON delegation who are currently in Saudi Arabia met and signed agreement with the 2026 Hajj Service Provider Company (Mashareeq Al-Zahabiyya) and the Transportation Company (Daleel Al-Ma’aleem).”
He further urged all intending pilgrims to ensure they complete their payments on or before 31st December, 2025.
