Kaduna State is playing host to the 47th National Council on Agriculture and Food Security, taking place at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Hall, Kaduna, from November 3–7, 2025.
Governor Uba Sani is expected to officially declare the event open on Thursday.
In his welcome address, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Malam Murtala Dabo, expressed Kaduna’s pride in hosting this year’s edition of the council.
“Kaduna’s successful bid to host this event reflects our state’s strong agricultural heritage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to national food security,” he said.
Dabo described the council as a vital platform for reflection, learning, and collaboration among states aimed at driving agricultural transformation and sustainable growth.
The Commissioner applauded the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that it rightly places agriculture at the core of Nigeria’s economic recovery.
He also commended Governor Uba Sani’s visionary leadership, saying it has repositioned agriculture as “a driver of opportunity, peace, and prosperity in Kaduna State.”
As deliberations continue through the week, Dabo urged participants to engage with unity of purpose and a shared vision for a food-secure Nigeria.
“We must work together to strengthen our food systems and ensure that agriculture remains the backbone of our national development,” he added.
