Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has urged Nigerian youths to play active roles in promoting peace, security and economic development across the country.
The governor, represented by the Commissioner for Internal Security, Barrister Suleiman Shu’aibu (SAN), gave the charge at the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN) North-Northwest Summit held in Kaduna.
He described the youth as critical stakeholders in nation-building, stressing the need for them to remain united and serve as pillars of peace and socio-economic progress.
APC cautions youths against drug abuse
Also speaking at the summit, Professor Kailani Muhammad, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), cautioned young people against the use of hard drugs and illicit substances, warning that such habits undermine their health and future prospects.
Professor Muhammad, who received a meritorious award from YAN at the event, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Nigerian youths and helping them become responsible citizens.
Dr. Gloria Ibrahim, the Kaduna State Commissioner for Youth Development, urged youths to embrace peace and security initiatives to uplift the nation.
Additionally, the Emir of Zazzau, Mallam Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli, commended YAN’s efforts in promoting peace and security and called on youths to refrain from actions that disrupt public peace. Dr. Ibrahim reiterated Governor Sani’s administration’s commitment to improving lives in Kaduna State.
