Former President Goodluck Jonathan has joined dignitaries across the country to congratulate former Vice President Namadi Sambo on his turbanning as the Sardaunan Zazzau.
In a post shared on his verified X handle on Saturday, Jonathan urged Sambo to use the honour to strengthen his connection with his people and the nation as a whole.
“I am pleased to have joined my dear brother, Mohammed Namadi Sambo GCON, former Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and other well-wishers at his turbanning as the Sardaunan Zazzau by HRH Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli Emir of Zazzau, at the Emir’s Palace in the historic city of Zaria.
“May this new role further deepen your bond with your people and your steadfast dedication to the peace, progress and development of our country,” Jonathan said.
It could be recalled that Sambo served as Vice President during Jonathan’s administration in Nigeria.
