The North East Learning Centre, Maiduguri, has on Monday welcomed a joint delegation from the Islamic Charity Organization (ICO) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), led by the Executive Secretary of the Borno State Information and Communication Technology Development Agency (BICTDA), Engr. Mohammed Kabir Wanori, FNSE.
The delegation was received by the Chairman of the Centre’s Board of Trustees,Members of ICO, IOM & BICTDA, Prof. Hauwa Abdu Biu, alongside members of management and staff.
During the visit, ICO and IOM announced plans to support the Centre with educational resources, expansion of digital infrastructure, and enhancement of information and communication technology (ICT) capabilities.
In his remarks, Engr. Wanori commended ICO and IOM for their commitment to advancing education and digital development in the state.
He said the partnership would “not only boost the Centre’s capacity but also align with BICTDA’s vision of promoting digital literacy and innovation across Borno.”
Prof. Biu described the intervention as timely
Professor Biu added that this would “significantly improve access to quality education, enhance digital skills, and create more opportunities for both students and staff.”
The Centre expressed readiness to work closely with ICO, IOM, and BICTDA to finalize modalities and ensure effective implementation of the initiatives.
It also extended appreciation to Engr. Wanori and his team for their sustained commitment to education and digital empowerment in the region.
