Foreign Affairs Minister Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar has expressed deep sadness over the death of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.

He described the late scholar as a man of character and quiet service.

A statement from the minister’s spokesman, Alkasim Abdulkadir, said Tuggar joined the sheikh’s family, students, and the wider Tijaniyya community in Nigeria and around the world in mourning his passing.

“He extends his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family, the people of Bauchi State, and all those touched by his passing,” the statement said.

Tuggar said Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi lived a life marked by devotion to community, peace, scholarship and faith.

Be noted that the cleric played a major role in shaping Islamic knowledge and moral standards in modern Nigeria.

The minister added that the late scholar’s contributions will continue to influence generations of Muslims across the country.

Prayers for the late scholar

He offered prayers, asking Allah to forgive the sheikh’s shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.

He also prayed that Allah gives the family, students and followers of the sheikh the strength to bear what he described as an irreplaceable loss.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un,” the statement added.
