Abubakar Malami

Former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has been summoned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). He revealed this in a Facebook post on Friday, saying he plans to fully cooperate with the agency.

Malami said he made the information public to show his commitment to openness and accountability.

He added that he has always supported transparent governance and will keep Nigerians updated as things progress. The EFCC has not yet explained why he was invited.

During his eight years as justice minister under President Muhammadu Buhari, Malami handled major legal cases, asset recoveries, and anti-corruption efforts.

His time in office drew both praise and criticism, especially over issues like policy decisions, asset declarations, contract processes, and how recovered funds were managed.
