The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Nigeria Police Force have reaffirmed their resolve to deepen inter-agency cooperation in Kwara State as part of renewed efforts to combat corruption and financial crimes.
The update was made public in a statement shared on the anti-graft agency’s verified social media platforms on Tuesday.
The statement said, “The Acting Zonal Director of the EFCC, Ilorin Zonal Directorate, ACE I Victoria Ugo-Ali, on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Police Command, CP Adekimi Ojo.
“It forms part of efforts to reinforce inter-agency cooperation in the fight against corruption and financial crimes.”
The visit, held at the Command Headquarters in Ilorin, was designed to formally introduce the new Zonal Director to the police leadership in the state and to further strengthen the working relationship between the two security agencies.
Addressing the gathering during the meeting, Ugo-Ali stressed the need for continued collaboration and institutional synergy between both bodies.
“The Nigeria Police is a critical stakeholder and a strategic partner in the anti-corruption crusade,” Ugo-Ali said.
“The success of the EFCC in tackling economic and financial crimes largely depends on the support and synergy of the police, whom I refer to as the foundation of law enforcement operations in the country,” she added.
The engagement reflects ongoing efforts by both the EFCC and the Kwara State Police Command to consolidate institutional ties and improve coordinated strategies in addressing economic and financial crimes across the state.
