The Edo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Gbenga Agun, reportedly collapsed and died on Thursday during an event in Benin City.
According to media reports, the commandant passed away at a programme organised by the International Association of World Peace Advocates, shortly after presenting his keynote address.
Agun was immediately taken to the Military Hospital along Airport Road in Benin City for urgent treatment, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Both the Edo NSCDC Command and the agency’s national headquarters have not yet issued an official reaction to the incident.
