The Borno State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the kidnapping of two boys who were earlier rescued in Jere Local Government Area.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued on Tuesday by ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, police public relations officer, borno state police command.

Police said the suspects were apprehended on December 13, following credible intelligence and a forensic-led investigation.

The suspects were identified as Abubakar Hassan, 19, Modu Aji, 18, and Baba Goni Abatcha, 18.

The kidnapping incident occurred in Jere Local Government Area, where the victims were rescued on December 5, 2025.

According to the police, investigations into the case are ongoing, after which the suspects will be charged to court.

Commissioner of police Naziru Abdulmajid commended the Divisional Police Officer of Jere Division and his team for their professionalism and commitment.

He also urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support crime prevention and detection efforts across the state.
